Seoul Aquarium Ticket Prices

Prices read from the aquariums' own English pages and the platform listings on 27 August 2026, converted at ₩1,380 to the dollar. The final column names the cheapest seller for each ticket type.

Two things fall out of that grid. First, nobody should buy at the window: the walk-up premium is ₩6,000 to ₩10,000 a head, for the privilege of queueing. Second, "book on a platform to save money" is only half right. It is true at Lotte and false at COEX, where the aquarium's own site quietly matches or beats it.

The child line is the one worth acting on. A family of two adults and one seven-year-old pays about ₩77,600 on the platform and ₩74,000 on the aquarium's website. Nothing about the visit differs. We earn nothing when you follow that advice, and it is still the right advice.

COEX

One walk through 14 discovery zones with about 40,000 animals, plus the tunnel under 2,000 tonnes of water. Extras are not included: the digital photo package, the VR add-on and the jellyfish-bowl session are separate purchases on the aquarium's own site, and mall parking runs ₩4,800 for four hours.

The platform ticket adds one thing the official advance ticket does not always give. A full refund any time before you scan it. On a Seoul itinerary that is still moving, that is worth the ₩400.

Lotte

One walk through 13 themed zones, the 85-metre tunnel, and the escalator view of the main ocean tank. The ticket costs about ₩27,300 against a ₩37,000 standing rate, and the listed retail figure of $23.89 shows what other resellers ask.

The trade is absolute: no cancellation, no refund, no date change. And the voucher is exchanged for a paper ticket at the group booth rather than scanning at the gate.

Both, on one pass

Two singles come to $40.34. The two-choice the two-attraction Seoul pass is $37.95, or $18.98 per attraction, and stays fully refundable until you activate it by reserving the first slot. The catch is the clock.

Activate within 30 days of booking, use everything within 30 days of that. And the fact that a partly used pass refunds nothing.

• Infants under 36 months enter both aquariums free with a paying guardian. Proof of age is required and staff do ask, bring the child's passport.
• One free infant per adult. A single parent with two under-threes pays for one of them.
• Children from age 3 pay the adult rate at Lotte and on the COEX platform listing. Only the COEX official site sells a discounted 3-12 child ticket.
• Korean passport holders cannot use the COEX platform offer or the attraction pass at all; buy on the aquarium's own site instead.
• Nobody gets a discount at the window. The gate is always the most expensive way in.

Prices read on 27 August 2026 from each product's own listing; the Discover Seoul Pass figure is its listed 24-hour rate. The last column is the only one that matters.

The pattern is simple. A single ticket wins for a single aquarium. The the attraction pass wins at two attractions, priced at $18.98 each. A 24-hour city pass at ₩34,000 only wins if you genuinely cram three or more attractions into one day, which with a ninety-minute aquarium and Seoul's travel times is harder than it sounds.

The discount that is not a discount is the resale ticket at COEX. It looks like a saving because the listing sits beside a gate price of ₩35,000. But the aquarium's own website charges ₩28,000 online, and less again for children. Comparing a booking platform with the ticket window, rather than with the operator's own site, is how nearly every guide on this search overstates the saving.

None of these are necessary. The photo package in particular is the kind of purchase that is easy to decline at the counter and awkward to decline once a photographer has already taken the picture at the entrance, which is where they are sold.

The Lotte ticket has no cancellation at all. No refund, no change, no moving the date, from the moment the booking confirms. It is the cheapest admission on this site and the only one that can become worthless.

The two-attraction Seoul pass sits between them. It refunds in full while unactivated, and stops refunding the moment you reserve your first attraction; a partly used pass returns nothing.

The practical rule is to match the ticket to how firm your plans are. On a fixed date the Lotte ticket is the best value on this page. On a loose itinerary, the ₩400 the COEX ticket costs over the official site is the cheapest travel insurance you will buy in Korea.

The aquariums price in won. The platforms price in dollars, converted at their own rate on the day you look. That is why a ticket listed at $20.55 in August can read $21.10 in October without anything changing at the gate.

Dynamic currency conversion at the counter, where the terminal offers to charge you in your home currency, is a worse rate than your bank's every time. Decline it and pay in won.

Book ahead, always. Buy a COEX child or family ticket on the aquarium's own website. Buy the Lotte ticket on a platform, on a date you are certain of.
